MRS PAULINE HOPKINS

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is with deep sadness we inform you that Mrs Pauline Hopkins passed away last week after a short illness.

Mrs Hopkins began working at Wyke on the very first day we opened our doors in September 1991 and was our longest-serving member of staff.  She was a truly dedicated and talented teacher who taught in the region of 750 children at Wyke alone, some of whom now have children at the school themselves.  Her professional knowledge and expertise was exceptional and is greatly missed.

Mrs Hopkins’ calm, caring manner endeared her to both children and parents alike.  All those who have had children in her class agree that she gave the children in her care the very best start to school life.

Pauline was also much a much-loved friend and colleague to our staff, several of whom had worked with her for many years and who will miss her greatly.

We hope to have a Book of Condolence available to sign shortly, and will let you know when this is in place.

We know you will join with us in sending our sympathy to Pauline’s family and friends.  We give thanks for having known such a special lady.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Laura Turvey
Acting Headteacher
