WORLD BOOK DAY

The children at Wyke Primary School looked very different when they came to school on Thursday 2nd March! We were celebrating the 20th World Book Day!

The children (and staff) went to huge effort to create amazing costumes from a range of different books.

The whole school used the text ‘Croc and Bird’ by Alexis Deacon as the stimulus for the day’s activities.  Many activities are art and drama based.

For the last part of the afternoon, the classes shared stories with children from another class.  We finished the day by having a whole school assembly where children from each class shared their learning from the morning.  The children were also given a £1 book token to buy a free book.  It was a super day enjoyed by us all.
